In collaboration with the Philharmonie de Paris and the Fondation Fiminco, Olivier Dubois will re-create Come Out for his company in November 2026 (originally created in 2019 for the Ballet de Lorraine) set to Come Out by Steve Reich.

“Reich’s Come Out begins with the phrase:
“I had to, like, open the bruise up and let some of the bruise blood come out to show them.”

It refers to the 1966 Harlem riots, during which six young African Americans were beaten, charged, and wrongfully convicted.

As often in my work, this piece serves as a manifesto for resilience, reflecting on recovery, memory, and the power of the collective body. Hypnotic and obsessive, the music and choreography distort reality to offer each viewer an intimate perception of the drive to fight.”
